The New England Patriots' third-round pick is officially in!
With the 95th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the New England Patriots select Georgia C Jared Wilson.
Everything to know about Jared Wilson
The Patriots were expected to bring in a young center after parting ways with David Andrews. And with Wilson, they are getting a super athletic lineman who made the All-SEC second team.
New England signed Garrett Bradbury to a two-year deal worth up to $12 million this offseason, and the expectation is he will remain the team's starting center this year.
Wilson only has started at the position for one season, but clearly the team sees a lot of potential and the hope is he will become the long-term solution for Drake Maye and the Patriots.
Here's what A to Z Sports' Draft Expert AJ Schulte had to say about Wilson:
"Jared Wilson has only started one year at center, and it shows on his film with his below-average awareness to recognize stunts thrown at him. However, he is still very young and he has all the tools to grow and develop. He's further along technically than you would expect for his inexperience, which is a very good sign for his coachable nature and development. He can develop into a quality center over time as he gains more time on task and experience in the role. He can also play either guard spot as many teams talked to him about doing at the NFL Combine," Schulte writes.
