Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes is apparently up to date on the hottest updates about the 2025 NBA Draft. As proof, he even reported on social media one of the top news stories about his season’s draft class.
Over at X, Patrick Mahomes was spotted reposting a news update that told the story of Duke Blue Devils star Cooper Flagg finally becoming the official overall No.1 pick for the 2025 NBA Draft for the Dallas Mavericks.
Mahomes has long been a vocal fan of the NBA, and is particularly fond of the Dallas Mavericks. He grew up in Tyler, Texas, which is only a couple of hours away from Dallas.

After a long trend of predictions, rumors, and speculations, Cooper Flagg finally made it to the NBA as the overall No.1 pick of the 2025 Draft Class. At only 18 years old, Flagg had been a sensational college star and played for Duke University for one season. He averaged 19.2 points per game, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists.
Flagg led the Blue Devils to the Final Four for the 2024-2025 season of the NCAA, but ultimately failed to claim a championship for his school. He was later awarded the National Player of the Year.

Mavs general manager Nico Harrison, who recently faced a huge backlash for the Luka Doncic trade, called the chance to draft Flagg as a “once-in-a-lifetime chance,” and cited how he is excited to have the young star help them win future championships.
Patrick Mahomes Earns Quarter-Century Honors as Chiefs Eye 2025 Title Run
Patrick Mahomes recently got recognized once more as one of the NFL’s elite players of the generation, as he was given a spot at ESPN’s recent prestigious “All-Quarter Century Team.”
The Chiefs quarterback was ranked behind only Tom Brady and Payton manning, which showed his remarkable impact and his status as an elite-level player in the league.

Mahomes has taken the Chiefs to the AFC Championship every year as the starter, and, heading into his ninth year with tight end Travis Kelce, the expectation for the two is to work together once again and win a Super Bowl championship.
Kelce was also named the second-best tight end of the last 25 years, with only Rob Gronkowski ahead of him. There were others recognized as well, including former and current Chiefs, such as Tony Gonzalez, Priest Holmes, Jared Allen, Chris Jones, and Darrelle Revis.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will kick off their 2025 season in a game at São Paulo, Brazil.
