The Green Bay Packers have already made some moves to improve their coaching staff going into the 2025 season. Revamping the front office is key before free agency starts and the draft gets even closer.
One piece that Matt LaFleur got today, may have been a preemptive move.
Packers’ Matt LaFleur Just Stole Massive Name From Mike McCarthy
Aaron Nagler of CheeseHead TV posted this video:
With McCarthy still looking for a job, Getsy was very possibly on his radar to join him with his next team.
In a report by Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Packers hired Luke Getsy as a senior offensive assistant.
LaFleur brought Getsy back as an advisor to end the 2024 season after he was fired by the Las Vegas Raiders in November of last year.
The 40-year-old Getsy first joined McCarthy’s staff in 2014 as an offensive quality control assistant. His tenure as wide receivers coach lasted two seasons (2016-17) before he became offensive coordinator at Mississippi State for one season. In 2019, he returned to Green Bay as LaFleur’s quarterbacks coach and was promoted to passing game coordinator in 2020. Between 2019 and 2022, he worked for LaFleur.
