Giants 'Top Priority' at Quarterback is Former Super Bowl Winner

The New York Giants are entering an offseason full of uncertainties, and the pressure is mounting for general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll, both of whom are returning to their roles after a tough 3-14 season.

The biggest question mark surrounding their roster is the quarterback position. The Giants have several potential paths they could take, whether it's drafting a QB with the third overall pick or addressing the position through free agency. As of now, it appears they have a clear priority moving forward.

According to ESPN NFL Nation reporter Jordan Raanan, the Giants' "top priority" at quarterback is veteran star and former Super Bowl winner Matthew Stafford. This comes as the team waits to see what unfolds with the Los Angeles Rams and their contract discussions with Stafford.

Stafford is set to earn $27 million next season, but it appears he has a desired salary of over $50 million, which would place him in the upper tier of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league.

However, the Rams have shown hesitation about paying that much, and if a trade were to materialize, the big question becomes what the Giants would need to give up to land the 37-year-old quarterback, as they still have other glaring issues across their roster.

Last season, Stafford led the Rams to the divisional round of the NFL postseason, giving the Eagles their toughest test of any team during their Super Bowl run. In the regular season, he threw for 3,762 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.
