Packers fans now know Aaron Rodgers is coming thanks to petty NFL schedule

Here we go.

New England Patriots v New York Jets

If you didn't believe it before, you can now — Aaron Rodgers is coming for revenge on the Green Bay Packers.

While he still remains unsigned, the NFL made it crystal clear where it stands on his future with its 2025 schedule release. If there's one thing the league loves more than anything, it's pettiness. The hottest of all revenge games is front and center at the start of the season.

The Packers didn't get the Week 1 date with Rodgers many hoped for, but the four-time MVP will begin his revenge tour in an awkward reunion at MetLife Stadium.

According to various reports, the New York Jets will host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1. The league has tipped its hand on Rodgers' future. The signs had already pointed to him joining Mike Tomlin's team, but this just about seals it.

Rodgers signing with the Steelers would put another revenge game on the calendar against the Packers.

NFL makes it clear where it stands on Aaron Rodgers' future with instant revenge game

The Packers won't play Rodgers in their season opener, but they won't have to wait long. According to Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, the Packers-Steelers game is slated for Sunday Night Football in Week 8.

It's a game that belongs in primetime.

Before then, Rodgers will get an awkward return to Pittsburgh in a rare double-revenge game at the quarterback position. Justin Fields is on the other side, having started six games for the Steelers before signing with the Jets in free agency.

It makes for a fascinating matchup.

Rodgers hasn't officially signed, but it sure looks like we're heading that way. The NFL has made its stance clear. Not only have they gone for the instant revenge game in Week 1, but they've saved Packers-Steelers for a primetime slot.

Perfection.
