NY Jets stars continue to hint at potential Davante Adams trade

The possibility of a future Davante Adams trade has dominated headlines for the NY Jets over the last few days. Of course, it's mid-July and there isn't much else to talk about, but there continues to be a lot of smoke surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro wide receiver.

Adams's recent appearance on the Up & Adams show with Kay Adams confirmed speculation that Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was doing his part to continue recruiting his former teammate to Florham Park.

Rodgers further fueled rumors with his comments about "playing with Adams....again" this week. Now, you can add two more Jets stars to the pro-Adams camp.

Jets running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Garrett Wilson were both recently asked about the possibility of their team trading for Adams, and both players made it clear that they're fully on board with the idea.

Hall was asked about a potential Adams trade during his own appearance on Up & Adams, and he insisted that he's "on board" with it. He also made it clear that he would still see plenty of touches even if the Jets traded for the All-Pro receiver.

As for Wilson, he told the New York Post that he's been "excited" about the Adams trade rumors, stating that he's in favor of the Jets acquiring any player that helps them win.

Of course, it should be noted that both Hall and Wilson were directly asked about the Adams situation. They didn't go out of their way to bring his name up and fuel trade rumors. Still, there's plenty of smoke surrounding an Adams/Jets pairing.

Adams has been in the crosshairs for Joe Douglas and the Jets since the team acquired Rodgers last offseason. Despite extensive rumors, a trade never materialized last year, and with Adams seemingly happy in Las Vegas, those rumors subsided this offseason.

Rodgers's and Adams's comments over the last few days have reignited those rumors, however. Adams seems like a likely trade target for the Jets at the deadline if things go poorly in Vegas and the former Packers wideout wants out.

It will take a series of events for Adams to become a realistic option for the Jets, but never say never when it comes to the NFL. The Jets will be motivated to get a deal done, so if the Raiders are willing to play ball, this pipedream could actually become a reality.
