Just a few more days and then NFL draft rumors, wondering, reports, and mock drafts come to an end. Then, Cleveland Browns fans will most likely be wondering how WR/CB Travis Hunter will fit on the roster and if the team did enough to make the team better after a horrible three-win 2024 season.
An interesting, surprising, and, perhaps, difficult choice to fill the quarterback room would like to add to that equation.
At this point, most would be surprised if QB Cam Ward and Hunter were not the first two picks, but an interesting report/rumor surfaced on Sunday that would change everything. Pro Football Talk reviewed a number of ideas around QB Shedeur Sanders’ landing spot, which included a team potentially trading up with the Browns to get the Colorado signal caller:
And then there’s the nuttiest one we’ve heard in recent days. At least one experienced and accomplished evaluator of talent thinks there’s a chance someone trades all the way up to No. 2 to get Sanders.
Like most of you, Mike Florio doesn’t think that is likely to happen with Sanders more likely to be available in the second half of the first round, or even second, than to be the second overall pick.
Cleveland could add a ton of assets if a team really wanted to move up that high, even if it is someone coming up from within the Top 10.
An unlikely possibility, but just a few more days to go over all these possibilities.
