Biggest Games on the Giants' 2025 Schedule

Giants vs. Chiefs: Anytime you get the chance to face a player like Patrick Mahomes and a team like the Chiefs, it is a great opportunity to prove to the rest of the league you can hang with the big boys. For the Giants, it's even more special with it being their home opener in Week three, and all eyes will be on them with the game scheduled to appear on Sunday Night Football. 

NFC East games: Division games are always important, but the Giants have something to prove. They are trying to be the next team to go from last to first in their division in just one season. And they will need to take care of business within the NFC East to accomplish that goal. One of which just so happens to be the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Eagles. 

Giants at Patriots: This one might shock some people, but hear me out. The Giants and Patriots are set to square off in Week 13 on Monday Night Football. Of their assigned three primetime games, this is the only one that comes against a team that, like the Giants, wasn't playing in last year's Super Bowl. This game comes ahead of their Week 14 bye, and will give them one last chance to show the NFL world that they're better than people are currently projecting.

Which games will be primetime viewing?

The Giants have multiple young, intriguing players, including their pair of 2025 first-round rookies, Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart, on their roster heading into the 2025 season. But until they are able to put up successful winning seasons, they aren't going to be near the top of the league in terms of prime time games. This year, they land three, including both teams that played in last year's Super Bowl.

Which games will you need streaming services to watch?

The only game the Giants will have this year that will require an additional streaming service to watch will be their Week six matchup against NFC East rivals the Eagles. The two are set to play on Thursday Night Football, which will be streamed on Amazon Prime.

Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis ranks teams' strength of schedule based on Juice (Vegas' projected win totals for the upcoming season). This year, Sharp has the Giants' SOS at the 32nd, which means they've actually have the hardest schedule in the NFL this season. Vegas has also given the Giants a 5.5 total win prediction.

Revenge Games on the Giants' 2025 schedule

• NFC East Games: The Giants not only finished last in the NFC East last season but also failed to win a single game against a divisional opponent. If they want to take a step forward as a franchise, that can't happen again. They were one of only two teams in the entire NFL to go 0-6 in their division, the other being the Las Vegas Raiders. 

3 Must-watch Matchups

• When/If Jaxson Dart makes his first NFL start: The biggest conversation that will follow the Giants all season long is whether or not first-round pick Jaxson Dart will make his first career start. And if he does, when will it come? With Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston likely in front of him on the depth chart to start the year, it likely wouldn't come early. After the Week 14 bye is a spot to watch if the season has already gone off the rails for the team, but that would leave matchups with some tough opponents, the Commanders, Vikings, Raiders, and Cowboys. 
  
  
• Abdul Carter vs. Penei Sewell: The biggest matchup for Abdul Carter this season will be when the Giants take on the Lions, and he is able to take on one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL in Penei Sewell. With Carter also having Brian Burns opposite him on the line, we probably won't see Carter line up over Sewell all game long. But being able to show what you can do against a player like Sewell could go a long way toward building Carter's confidence going forward. 
  
  
• Giants vs. the Saints and QB Tyler Shough: The Giants traded back into the first round to take Jaxson Dart with the 25th pick in the first round. This made him the second QB drafted, and the final one taken in the first round. The Giants could face one of the players they passed on in Tyler Shough in Week 5 when they take on the Saints. Shough went on to be the third QB taken in the draft, but due to Derek Carr's decision to retire, he will probably end up starring earlier than Dart. We shall see if the Giants' passing on him gives him a chip on his shoulder, and he comes out with something to prove if he is the starter.
