Matthew Tkachuk sends message to Oilers in Stanley Cup Final handshake line

A new recording of the Stanley Cup Final handshake line is surfacing online, allowing fans to hear exactly what the players said to each other.

The video from ESPN+ follows Matthew Tkachuk through the handshake line and his comments towards Connor McDavid and Stuart Skinner. Tkachuk said to both Oilers that he'll see them in the Cup Fonal again next year, adding to Skinner that the Oilers are just too good'.

Connor McDavid stayed professional and congratulated Tkachuk for the victory and saying it was well deserved. Skinner said a return to the cup final sounds good to him.

The Stanley Cup handshake line is one of the greatest traditions in sport, and the Oilers and Panthers did it justice by the looks of the video. After a crushing defeat to one of their deepest seeded rivals in Matthew Tkachuk, the Oilers were all class - and even Tkachuk was too.

Later on though, Connor McDavid and the Oilers were clearly devastated by the loss in the locker room. Memorably, McDavid didn't come out to accept the Conn Smythe Trophy because he was so heartbroken and wanted to be with his teammates.

It's absolutely incredible to get an in-depth view at one of the most important moments of the NHL season, and of Connor McDavid's career. Fans will be able to get more of these in-depth looks in Amazon's upcoming behind the scenes TV series, which one ESPN reporter has said will entirely change how fans view Connor McDavid.

The regular season opener is now just over a week away, and the Edmonton Oilers are solely focused on finishing the job from last year. Gear up Oilers fans, hockey is nearly back!
