He is the sort of player you build around. McLaurin is an alpha in every sense of the term. The Ohio State graduate leads by example, is a model of consistency on the field and cares deeply about the franchise. That's everything Peters and the Commanders are looking for.
McLaurin will only be too happy to sign on the dotted line when the time comes. He's been one of the very few constants throughout some dark days for the organization. While others voiced their displeasure or couldn't wait to leave when given the chance, he stayed committed to the cause.
And his patience paid off.
The Commanders are heading in the right direction following decades of being left to rot. This is an exciting time to be in Washington. It's a franchise on the up and an attractive destination once again. But make no mistake, McLaurin will be integral to any success that comes their way moving forward.
