The Chicago Bulls are gaining some ground, as they are now on a two-game win streak following their 122-121 win against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Monday evening.
Bulls guard Lonzo Ball did not perform particularly well opposite the Raptors, as he came off the bench and scored just eight points on a salty 2-for-9 shooting from the floor, though, he did garner seven assists, six rebounds, a steal and a block in 23 minutes.
Nevertheless, the 27-year-old Ball said after the game that what mattered the most was his team getting the win.
“I mean we won, always feel good when we win baby, no matter how you do it,” the former UCLA Bruins star said while heading to the team’s locker room (h/t the Bulls’ official X account).
Ball’s minutes against the Raptors were his most in a game so far in the 2024-25 NBA regular season, and he could perhaps expect ample playing time when the 12-15 Bulls take on the Boston Celtics at TD Garden in Boston on Thursday.
Chicago point guard Josh Giddey suffered an apparent ankle injury in the third quarter of the Raptors game before being ruled out for the remainder of that contest.
If Giddey misses time, Ball, the No. 2 pick overall in the 2017 NBA draft, could get a nod to start versus the reigning league champions.
So far in the 2024-25 NBA season, Ball is averaging 5.7 points on 34.6 field goal percentage, 3.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.
