After being released in early March, all-time Seattle Seahawks great wide receiver Tyler Lockett announced that he is signing with the Tennessee Titans.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal is for one year and could be worth up to $6 million.
A former third-round pick out of Kansas State in 2015, Lockett spent the first 10 years of his NFL career in Seattle. He experienced tremendous success with the Seahawks, recording 661 receptions for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns - all of which rank as the second most in franchise history.
Lockett was also a dangerous return man early in his career, taking one punt and two kickoffs back for touchdowns during his first three seasons. He was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2015, was a Pro Bowler in 2016, and an All-Pro from 2015-2017.
The Seahawks saved $17 million by moving on from Lockett after the 2024 season. However, there was no bad blood between the two over the decision. Lockett had this to say when he was released:
"I really enjoyed being in Seattle!" Lockett wrote in a post on X. "I met so many great people and captured so many great memories! The 12’s really make this place meaningful! Although, my time on the Seahawks may have run its course I’m thankful for everything!!God gets all the glory forever!!!!"
The Seahawks responded with some kind words of their own:
"Always a Seahawk through and through," the team posted on X about Lockett. "Thank you for 10 seasons of clutch plays, a commitment to this community, and a lifetime of memories."
