Las Vegas Raiders HC Pete Carroll showed that he still has the juice when it comes to decision-making off the field

The Las Vegas Raiders have had no trouble filling out their coaching staff for the 2025 season. In fact, it feels like they are filling it out much faster than we saw this time last year with Antonio Pierce, and certainly faster than any other team that has the same kind of openings that the Raiders do.

They got Pete Carroll as their head coach. Everyone wants to coach with and under a guy that previously won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks over the Denver Broncos, and went to another one against the New England Patriots. Carroll has also won a National Championship with USC. So, yes, the resume speaks for itself, and it makes him a guy that young up-and-coming coaches want to coach under.

He is showing he still has the juice, too. Who cares how old he is? I can tell you who doesn't -- the Raiders' newest position coach that they just hired.

Raiders hire Deland McCullough as RBs coach

Deland McCullough served as Notre Dame's running backs coach after having experience in college and the NFL. He was a record-setting running back at Miami University in Ohio, and his playing career included time in the NFL, CFL, and XFL before he moved into coaching.

McCullough's coaching path started at Miami (Ohio) as an intern, then at Indiana University in 2011, where he developed several 1,000-yard rushers. He moved to USC in 2017 and then to the Kansas City Chiefs from 2018 to 2020, contributing to their Super Bowl LIV win. After returning to Indiana in 2021, he joined Notre Dame in 2022, where he's known for both developing players and mentoring them off the field.

His work at Notre Dame has been praised, with players like Audric Estimé setting new records. And of course, having a huge year this last season getting his team to the National Championship with some elite running backs.

The Raiders like what they see.
