The Buffalo Bills knew that with yet another playoff series that saw them lose to the Kansas City Chiefs, the front office had to make some serious moves this offseason.
And so far, the Bills have been rather proactive in that department, retaining a host of key weapons on both sides of the ball.
But also, general manager Brandon Beane has signed two solid players in free agency with Joshua Palmer coming from the Los Angeles Chargers to give Josh Allen some home-run threat, and Joey Bosa, who will look to fill the void left by veteran Von Miller.
However, is that enough? Bills fans are all saying the same thing wondering about that playoff hump - it's an understandable obsession around here - and CBS Sports has given a B grade for Buffalo's dealings so far.
"The Bills made it abundantly clear that their main objective to begin this free agent cycle was to lock in their core and they've done just that, inking the likes of Josh Allen, Khalil Shakir, Terrell Bernard, and others to extensions," CBS Sports wrote. "While keeping their players in-house is a strong move and Palmer is a capable receiver, they still have big needs in the secondary so this is hardly a complete look at what Buffalo will be in 2025."
The Bills could still look to add another receiver in free agency or the draft, and defensively, there are holes that could easily be filled in the draft, given the defensive depth.
The signing of Bosa might see the Bills move off taking an edge rusher in the first round, with corner a possible option.
Either way, the Bills have been relatively busy in the last week or so, and while James Cook's contract still isn't done, Buffalo would be wise to get that sorted out sooner rather than later.
Because yes, the moves made this offseason have strengthened the Bills, but more needs to be done, and we think it will.
