“The Valley” star Kristen Doute shared what has been “the biggest surprise” during her pregnancy.
In a February 28 Instagram video in partnership with Babylist, Doute and her castmate, Nia Sanchez, who is pregnant with her fourth child with her husband, Danny Booko, discussed preparing for their upcoming arrivals. During the video, Doute told Sanchez that she expected to look more visibly pregnant sooner.
“The biggest surprise to me was not having like a bump earlier,” said Doute in the video.
She said that she thought she would be immediately “walking around in a crop top, with, like a belly.”
“No, that’s not how that works,” said Doute.
Nia Sanchez Shared How Kristen Doute Reacted When She Told Her She Was Also Pregnant
In the February 28 video, Sanchez, who is expecting a girl, shared that her and Doute’s due dates are “only a week apart.” While speaking to Us Weekly in December 2024, alongside Booko, Sanchez shared that she and her husband decided to tell Doute and her fiance, Luke Broderick, they were expecting another child before the rest of “The Valley” cast.
“We did tell Luke and Kristen because they’re pregnant. So we’ve actually been trying to tell them specifically for weeks. It was the funniest thing because for Kristen, it didn’t click right away. She thought we were talking about her pregnancy,” said Sanchez to the publication. “We were taking a video and we say, ‘We’re pregnant.’ She goes, ‘Yeah, we are pregnant.’ She was thinking that we were saying that we’re all a family and we are celebrating her pregnancy. Then finally she goes, ‘Hold on, you’re pregnant?’”
Sanchez also said that she and Doute have gotten closer because of their pregnancies.
“Now that we’re both pregnant, we are definitely extra close. It’s been nice to be there for her during the early stages of her pregnancy,” said Sanchez during the Us Weekly interview.

She said that she and her fiance “are so excited for this next chapter in [their[ lives together and to soon welcome [their] baby girl next summer.”
In a November 2024 interview with People, Doute referenced that she and Broderick conceived via IUI (Intrauterine Insemination). According to Doute, her fiance “wasn’t surprised” when she announced she was pregnant. She also said that he was thrilled “that IUI worked the first time.”
