John McCook Promises Bold & Beautiful Is ‘Bringing Back the Glitz and Glamour of Our Show’ — and Reveals How!

When we think about The Bold and the Beautiful one name always pops to mind, John McCook. Not only has the daytime vet played Eric since 1987, prior to that, he appeared as Lance Prentiss on sister soap The Young and the Restless from 1976 to 1981. For nearly 50 years, the actor has filmed in the CBS Television Studios and now he’s getting ready for a big move…

“My dressing room now is empty and our show will be moving over to The Sunset Las Palmas Studios where it will rebuild, refresh and enlarge our sets, bringing back the old glitz and glamour of our show,” McCook shared, along with a photo from his dressing room. “Stay tuned for what’s ahead and spread the good news. Soap opera is here to stay.”

Given that Young & Restless will remain at its current home, Lauralee Bell (Christine) left McCook a message under his post and stated, “I will miss your smiling face in the hallway! Hope you’ll invite us over for a fieldtrip to show us the new spot.” Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) added, “We will miss you all!” as his castmate Rebecca Budig (Taylor) shared, “Loved being a visitor in your room John. Always felt like a big hug.”

Earlier this month, Ashley Jones posted an emotional video while saying goodbye to the studio she grew up in. Much like McCook, she played on Young & Restless as Megan before landing the role of Bridget and has spent many years there since she was a teenager.

We wish the stars the best as they make this transition and can’t wait to see the little changes unfold.
