Kristin Cavallari Comes Clean About Her Romance with Craig Conover — And Why It Ended

Kristin Cavallari shared new details on her brief fling with Southern Charm's Craig Conover.

After much speculation, Kristin Cavallari is finally sharing the details about her brief romantic relationship with Southern Charm cast member Craig Conover. The Honestly Cavallari star recently opened up about the romance, and how it ended right around the time that Craig started dating ex-girlfriend Paige DeSorbo.

Kristin appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday, June 4, where she came clean about her fling with Craig. "So Craig and I were friends first, we became romantic for two seconds," she explained, as seen in the video above.

"The second I caught wind of Paige, I very politely excused myself from the situation," she continued, admitting that she was still talking to Craig when she saw a picture of him and Paige in New York "sort of" together.

"I saw that picture, and I texted him, 'Hey, let's just be friends.' Like, I don't want to get in the middle of this. I was already in a love triangle in high school, I'm good for the rest of my life, I never want to be in another one," the mom of three added. "That's it."

Although Craig has since broken up with Paige and Kristin is single, she told WWHL host Andy Cohen that she would not date Craig again. "No," she said. "I love Craig as a friend."

 

How did Kristin Cavallari meet Craig Conover?

Craig and fellow Southern Charm cast member Austen Kroll were first introduced to Kristin after she slid into Craig's DMs ahead of a trip to Charleston.

"Honestly, she slid into Craig's DMs and was like, 'I'm coming into town,' so we all went to dinner," Austen said during a December 2020 appearance on WWHL.

"We all kinda hit it off," he added, noting that they went to Nashville to visit Kristin shortly after. "We wanted to go and visit them, and we did. We all get along so well."

During a September 2023 appearance on WWHL, Kristin shared where she stood with both Austen and Craig. "I'm still friends with them [and] actually, Austen is coming to Nashville this week, so I think I'm getting dinner with him," she said at the time. 

She also admitted to having something romantic with Craig. "I may have been drunk one night and kissed Craig," she said at the time.

Craig briefly came clean about his fling with Kristin during Summer House Season 6, when he was in his early stages of pursuing Paige. At the time, Summer House cast member Lindsay Hubbard had brought up a rumor that she heard about Craig having a fling with Kristin. He then acknowledged that he had "hooked up with her before."

But Paige admitted that they were "casually dating" in 2021.

"We're free to do whatever we want," she said during Summer House Season 6, which was filmed in 2021. "The door is open for anyone who would like to give it a shot."
