Jets' No. 1 Offseason Priority Revealed

The New York Jets' offseason plans took a dramatic turn when the franchise decided to part ways with four-time MVP winner Aaron Rodgers.

Jets' No. 1 Offseason Priority Revealed

While some were shocked at the call, when we factor in that new head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey both wanted to start this thing with a clean slate, it makes sense.

But now, New York is back to square one at the quarterback position, and entering the offseason, that isn't a great spot to be.

As such, CBS Sports has the Jets finding a competent quarterback as the top priority this offseason.

"The Jets are moving on from Aaron Rodgers, so finding a franchise quarterback will surround the offseason," CBS Sports writes. "There isn't much cap space to retool the roster, but it will open up with the eventual post-June 1 cut of Rodgers."

Exactly where the Jets go is unknown.

There is free agency with the likes of Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, and others, but neither really is a long-term prospect, more so a placeholder.

But the draft? The Jets hold the No. 7 pick, and while most "top" prospects could be gone by then, New York might choose to go down that route. Either way, a decision has to be made.

Exactly what the Jets will do is unknown, but they wouldn't have moved off Rodgers without having a plan of attack, and while that plan doesn't seem too good right now, we say let the cake bake on this one.

The Jets will have a plan, and frankly, it better be a good one.
