Jets 'Leak' Genius Response To Ugly Aaron Rodgers Accusations

Last week, Aaron Rodgers was moaning about the way he was treated by the New York Jets staff, including head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Moughey.

Jets 'Leak' Genius Response To Ugly Aaron Rodgers Accusations

He had some rather unflattering things to say.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that the Jets did the right thing about not getting into a war of words with their former quarterback.

"Not a word, directly or indirectly. On any of the various subjects Rodgers addressed or claims he made — including that the Jets have been a “debacle” and that new coach Aaron Glenn went “rogue” in abruptly telling Rodgers after he flew cross country “on my own dime” that he’d be getting no more dollars from the Jets," Florio said.

We get it. Restraint is the better form of rebuttal in this instance.

"Some would regard silence as confirmation of Rodgers’s claims," Florio said. "Judged against the standard established by past Jets regimes, that would likely be true. The best sign that the team is changing under Glenn and GM Darren Mougey is that they exercised restraint in the face of Rodgers’s grievances."

There is one hole in Florio's point - a small one.

He's right; Glenn hasn't responded with similar fury ... and maybe be never will.

But someone inside the New York headquarters has leaked out info about how Rodgers is lying about some of the details of this meeting. (See below.)

There is a quiet genius to that. No war of words. Just a couple of whispered facts.

Rodgers has a standing offer to join the Pittsburgh Steelers on the table. He has not decided whether or not he is going to accept it. Due to Rodgers not making a decision, the Steelers remain unsettled at the position and could look to the NFL Draft for their signal-caller.

The NFL Draft starts Thursday night in Green Bay and runs through Saturday afternoon. ... with the Rodgers saga surely also part of the "fun.''
