Curry has been the anchor for the Golden State Warriors for over a decade and a half. He's won two MVP awards, one Finals MVP and four titles while with the club. The Davidson product also made a seismic impact on the basketball landscape as a whole, worldwide.

Still, Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson, who is known as the savior of the NBA alongside Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird, is constantly regarded as the best point guard in league history.

That isn't the case for Teague, though, who is quite outspoken about ranking Curry above Johnson all-time at the point guard position.

Teague claims no disrepsect after Curry, Johnson claim

Teague, a former NBA All-Star and journeyman, took to the Club 520 podcast to address the all-time rankings released by Bleacher Report, which had Curry firmly as the No. 10 player of all time, with Johnson slated at No. 4.

“I’m taking Steph over Magic Johnson. I know Magic saved the league, him and Larry Bird saved the NBA — I get it. So there’s no disrespect," Teague claimed. “Magic made it cool to be a big point guard. But Steph saved everybody. Steph is the best PG of all time."

Why is Curry a better point guard than Johnson? Because he was able to accomplish what he did at 6-foot-3.

“What he did at 6’3″, bro. The thing about Magic Johnson was, he was gonna be able to play anyway because he’s 6’9″. [He] could’ve played center,” Teague continued.

Regardless of which player is better all-time, both were immensely influential in the widespread growth of the NBA. Johnson, along with Bird, saved the NBA. Curry then changed the sport of basketball.

The two can be interchangeable as the best point guards of all time. They both revolutionized the position in different ways.

Curry was a small guard, though he led with scoring and elite shooting ability. Johnson was 6-foot-9 with unprecedented passing ability at his size.
