The Washington Commanders shocked the football world this past weekend as they travelled to Ford Field and eliminated the NFC's top seed, the Detroit Lions, from the playoffs.
The Lions were heavy favorites in the matchup after a dominant regular season that saw them win 15 games and put together one of the best offensive seasons in league history.
It was a painful loss for the Lions and it seems that after the game the Commanders' standout rookie QB took an opportunity to rub a bit of salt in the wound.
On an episode of his "Kickin' It With Dee" podcast, Donald De La Haye revealed that Commanders QB Jayden Daniels and Lions corner Terrion Arnold swapped jersey after the game and Daniels left a brutal message on the jersey he gave Arnold.
The message said, "Cancun on 3! 1, 2, 3."
Daniels earned the right to do a bit of trolling with his performance in the playoff matchup.
The rookie QB shredded the Lions' defense, completing 22 of 31 pass attempts for 299 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also added 51 rushing yards.
The matchup also gave Daniels bragging rights over Arnold after the two had split a pair of matchups during their college careers as SEC rivals.
Still, this is certainly going to provide the Lions with a little bit of extra motivation when these two teams meet again during the 2025 regular season and if they happen to run into each other for a playoff rematch next season.
