James Kennedy Doesn’t Expect ‘Legendary’ Vanderpump Rules ‘To Be Over Yet’

Is Vanderpump Rules set to return? Well, James Kennedy made a statement about the show’s future during its time off the air.

After Season 10, Bravo seemed to think viewers wanted more Pump Rules. Scandoval rocked the nation, and the network wanted to capitalize on that hype. Unfortunately, that momentum led to a Season 11 that didn’t sit right with fans. On the bright side, Ariana Madix obtained astronomical fame and a wealth of opportunities.

It sort of prompts the question, does Ariana still need VPR after her success? And if she doesn’t, where will that leave the show? Well, James might not know for certain. But at the very least, he’s happy with his recent opportunities outside the show as well.

What has James Kennedy been up to after VPR Season 11?

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, James spoke about VPR’s unexpected hiatus. “This was the first summer we’ve had off in a decade, so it’s been nice being able to travel and to DJ and focus on that.” Indeed, James felt all too happy being able to DJ for events like the iHeartRadio Music Festival’s House of Music event. “It’s been an absolute dream come true.”

He explained, “I mean, being on reality TV for over a decade and this being my dream overall since the get-go, right? I’ve been able to DJ events like Neon Carnival, EDC, Stagecoach. It’s just a massive dream come true for me and you know it’s just fueling me to put on better shows. The crowds have been incredible.”

Much like Ariana, James springboarded his time on VPR into something greater. He also mentioned his time with Ally Lewber as the two enjoyed the summer. “We’ve got [our dog] Hippie at home and we’ve just been both focused on our work and enjoying our time together.” As for the future of the show, James added, “But, you know, it’s Vanderpump Rules. It’s a legendary show so I don’t expect it to be over yet.”

Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
