Quinn Hughes wasn't on the ice for the final half of the third period against Seattle, and now the Canucks may be worried about an injury to their star captain, who hasn't been able to avoid the injury bug in 2024/25 thus far.
Quinn Hughes' injury issues have been a major cause of concern for the Vancouver Canucks all season long, especially after he was ruled out of competing for his country at the Four Nations with a lingering injury.
Unfortunately, things may not be improving, as Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman has pointed out that during the final nine minutes of the Canucks surprise 6-3 loss to the Seattle Kraken, captain Hughes was nowhere to be found on the ice, with his previous injury concerns once again coming to light.
The news didn't get any better when Head Coach Rick Tocchet was asked, as he revealed that Hughes tweaked something, noting that the team will know more on Sunday and will likely give an update to fans when that becomes available.
With Hughes in the lineup, the Canucks are barely scraping their way into the Stanley Cup Playoff race, and given the way that Elias Pettersson and the other leaders on this team have struggled, it's safe to say that without No. 43 in the lineup, things are dire in Vancouver.
Ultimately, it's as simple as this: if Quinn Hughes is out for a lengthy period of time for Vancouver, their Wild Card hopes in 2024/25 take a massive, almost detrimental hit, so while there's a chance that it's nothing serious or he may simply miss a game or two, every Canucks fan out there should be holding their breath until they have some answers on the young star.
