Three of the biggest checkpoints of the offseason have come and gone. First was the initial wave of free agency. Then came the 2025 NFL Draft. Lastly, the NFL’s schedule release. And once the New York Giants' schedule dropped, fans everywhere started predicting their record. Sayre Bedinger of NFL SpinZone predicted the record of every NFL team, and he felt our beloved Giants would go 7-10. Here's our crack at how the season will go.
Predicting every Giants game on the 2025 schedule
Week 1: @ Washington Commanders — Win (1-0)
This may come as a surprise, but this one’s a win for the Giants. The Commanders enter the season riding high off an NFC Championship appearance. The Giants come in retooled, healthy, and ready to make a statement from the front office down. They take advantage of Washington underestimating them and steal a win on the road.
Week 2: @ Dallas Cowboys — Loss (1-1)
The Giants have a Cowboys problem, and it’s real. Since October 2020, they haven’t won a game against their bitter rival. That’s eight straight losses, including a game the Cowboys were practically begging to lose last Thanksgiving. Until proven otherwise, the Cowboys are a guaranteed loss for the G-Men.
Week 3: vs Kansas City Chiefs — Loss (1-2)
Well, the Giants finally have their home opener, but of course it has to come against Patrick Mahomes in primetime. Now, Daniel Jones isn’t under center anymore for New York, so the primetime numbers have a chance of improving—but this isn’t the week for it. Mahomes and Co. come into MetLife and spoil the fans’ first chance to see the 2025 Giants.
Week 4: vs Los Angeles Chargers — Win (2-2)
Another week, another game against an AFC West opponent. Chargers head coach Jon Harbaugh stayed true to form this offseason, revamping the offense with additions to the running back and offensive line rooms. However, the Giants’ defensive front—consisting of Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and now a healthy Dexter Lawrence and coveted draft pick Abdul Carter—is a matchup nightmare for the Chargers. The Giants’ front gets pressure all game long and sends the fans home happy.
Week 5: @ New Orleans Saints — Win (3-2)
The New Orleans Saints have a real chance to be the worst team in the NFL in 2025. They have some talented skill players on both sides of the ball, like Alvin Kamara and Cameron Jordan, but with Derek Carr’s retirement, the quarterback room looks to be a problem. The Giants’ defensive front again takes away the run game, and New Orleans’ quarterbacks just aren’t good enough to get the job done offensively.
Week 6: vs Philadelphia Eagles — Loss (3-3)
Like with the Cowboys, the Giants have an Eagles problem, too. Since the start of 2023, the Giants are 1-5 against Philadelphia. The one win came in late 2024 when the Eagles had absolutely nothing to play for. The Giants would need to play a near-perfect game to beat the defending Super Bowl champs, and unfortunately, this won’t be that day. Eagles win, and the Giants are back to .500.
Week 7: @ Denver Broncos — Win (4-3)
Denver’s Bo Nix was the darling of the 2024 quarterback draft class. However, a sophomore slump is coming, and this week against the Giants will be no different. The defense puts together what will be one of its best games of the year as Denver struggles to score. Add in a little Russell Wilson revenge, and the Giants have a fun plane ride back to the Northeast.
Week 8: @ Philadelphia Eagles — Loss (4-4)
This isn’t a game where the Eagles have nothing to play for—it’s on the road, and the Giants’ Eagles problem still looms large. Another loss for the Giants until proven otherwise.
Week 9: vs San Francisco 49ers — Loss (4-5)
The Giants return home only to face an angry 49ers team. After paying Brock Purdy and underachieving in 2024, the 49ers are out for blood—and the Giants are their latest victim. It’s a hard-fought game, but San Francisco’s offense proves to be too much. A good effort, but a loss nonetheless.
Week 10: @ Chicago Bears — Win (5-5)
This one is an absolute dogfight. Chicago is cold, rainy, and has miserable playing conditions when the Giants come to town. In a game with two solid defenses, points are at a premium. Wilson is still the starter for the Giants and uses his experience to his advantage, securing the win for Big Blue late in this one.
Week 11: vs Green Bay Packers — Loss (5-6)
The Giants’ success against the NFC North lasts just one week, as the Packers come into the Giants’ house and leave with a win. Jordan Love has a strong game, taking advantage of the Giants’ secondary, and Josh Jacobs keeps the defense honest by busting big runs when needed. This isn’t a blowout by any means, but it is a win for the cheeseheads.
Week 12: @ Detroit Lions — Loss (5-7)
Even with Ben Johnson leaving to coach the Bears, the Lions’ offense is still a well-oiled machine. In what will be the worst game of the season for the Giants’ defense, the Lions ease into a victory in late November. Big Blue put up some garbage-time points to make things look closer, but this is a wire-to-wire win for the Lions.
Week 13: @ New England Patriots — Win (6-7)
In the third and final primetime game for the Giants, they put on a show. It’s a complete game in which the G-Men dominate every facet—offense, defense, special teams, it doesn’t matter. All units are clicking at the right time. The send-off into the bye week is a good one, as the Giants end a mini two-game skid.
Week 15: vs Washington Commanders — Loss (6-8)
Unfortunately, New York rides a little too high and comes out of the bye week lackadaisical. The Commanders, eager for revenge, take advantage, and Jayden Daniels puts on a show—proving there’s no sophomore slump for him late in the season. The Giants quickly learn they don’t have the Commanders figured out and find another mark in the loss column.
Week 16: vs Minnesota Vikings — Loss (6-9)
This isn’t the same type of butt-kicking we saw in 2024, but the Vikings leave with another win when they visit the Giants. JJ McCarthy shows flashes of a first-year starter, but in the end, Justin Jefferson is too much for the secondary to handle. Deonte Banks gets torched yet again, and fans are calling for his head.
Week 17: @ Las Vegas Raiders — Win (7-9)
The new-look Raiders don’t live up to the billing in Pete Carroll’s first year at the helm. Despite the history with QB Geno Smith, the Giants defense has the answers. Another revenge game for Wilson against his old coach fires the boys up, and the offense gets the job done. In one of their highest-scoring games of the year, the G-Men come out of Sin City victorious.
Week 18: vs Dallas Cowboys — Loss (7-10)
Big Blue still doesn’t have an answer to their Cowboys problem. The season ends with a home loss to that team from Dallas.
Well, we got there. Seven wins in 2025 and a season fans should be relatively proud of. If head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen want to keep their jobs, seven wins is likely the minimum they need. Show life, show promise, and let’s get this franchise headed in the right direction.
