Former Seahawks G Laken Tomlinson signs with Texans

The Seattle Seahawks' biggest focus this offseason must be rebuilding this offensive line, but this task just got a little more difficult. On Tuesday morning it was reported by NFL insider Mike Garafolo that Seattle starting guard Laken Tomlinson has agreed to terms with the Houston Texans. The veteran guard is now headed to his fifth team on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million.

On one hand, there's a reason the Seahawks let Tomlinson walk. Seattle was atrocious on their interior offensive line, and Tomlinson was a major reason why. He and Anthony Bradford were among the worst at their positions in the league. There was not one person who reasonably believed Tomlinson would be starting again in 2025 for the Seahawks.

On the other hand... this now becomes yet another position Seattle needs to fill. Their biggest weakness just got one man thinner, and some of the top free agent guards are already off the table. Will Fries and Ryan Kelly both, ironically, signed with the Minnesota Vikings. There are still a few names left, such as Mehki Becton and Brandon Scherff, but general manager John Schneider needs to work fast.
