It is being reported by CBSSports.com that former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden is making his return to football.
After being away from professional football for the last four years, Jon Gruden is making his return back, this time as the part owner of the Nashville Kats. Gruden will be joining former Titans coach Jeff Fisher in the ownership group.
Fisher owns majority of the team through his company Fisher Football Ventures, LLC.
The Nashville Kats organization announced on Monday that Gruden “will be a Partner with consulting and advisory roles in all aspects of the team’s football and business operations.”
Gruden has been absent from football since he resigned as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders back in October of 2021.
Gruden resigned over leaked emails that contained homophobic and misogynistic language.
Over the past few years, Gruden has appeared at a number of NFL facilities, but this will be his first football job since resigning.
About his new position and opportunity with the Kats, Gruden says, “I have been a fan of indoor football for a long time and jumped at the opportunity to be involved with Jeff and the Nashville Kats as part of the ownership group,” Gruden said. “I have so much respect for what Jeff has done over his career and continues to do with the Nashville Kats and as commissioner of AF1. I’m excited to be part of the team.”
