The New York Jets will look very different from last season after finishing with a 7-10 record under quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Robert Salah.

Jets Send Message to C.J. Mosley After Major Career Announcement

New York fired head coach Robert Salah just five games into the 2024 season and has also moved on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Now, with first-year head coach Aaron Glenn and quarterback Justin Fields, the Jets will also be without one of their long-time linebackers moving forward.

After New York released C.J. Mosley back in March, he announced on his 33rd birthday that he's decided to retire from the NFL.

The Jets posted on X, shouting out the linebacker who spent six years with the franchise.

"Forever a leader. Congrats on a great career," The New York Jets said.

After being selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft by Baltimore Ravens, Mosley went on to be elected to the Pro Bowl in four of the five years he was with the Ravens.

Mosley signed with the New York Jets as an unrestricted free agent in 2019 but struggled with injuries during his time there.

He played just two games in his first season with the Jets but missed only one game over the next three seasons. He earned New York's Team MVP award in 2021 and was elected to another Pro Bowl game in 2022.

In 2024, however, he was sidelined for 13 games due to a toe injury and a herniated disc in his neck.

Mosley's career statistics include 1,082 total tackles, 12 sacks, 10 forced fumbles and 12 interceptions in 133 games played for the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets.

After 10 seasons, five Second-Team All-Pro selections, and five Pro Bowl honors, C.J. Mosley has called it quits in the league and will look towards other life endeavors
