I don't know if Le'Veon Bell was ever any more relatable than he was on Thursday for every NFL out there: You know that feeling you get sometimes remembering a particular coach or player while going about your groceries, in the middle of work, or even in a friends and family gathering?
Bell knows it very well too, albeit from a player's point of view rather than a simple fan. Well, on Thursday morning, he specifically remembered former New York Jets head coach Adam Gase. And he let the whole world know about it.
On a post on Twitter/X, Bell posted "I still randomly think about how PISSED I used to be in the huddle when Adam Gase would call '21 dive' on 2nd & 10."
The blow to Gase came out of left field and it didn't stop there as Bell hilariously went into detail, making sure everyone who came across the tweet knew exactly what he was talking about: "That's a HALF BACK DIVE FROM SHOTGUN for the people that doesn't understand what that fully means."
In another post, Bell continued: "Sam (Darnold) would be saying the play out loud just shaking his head in the huddle .. lol"
Clearly, Bell wasn't a fun of Gase's play-calling nor his overall offensive strategy as he also made fun of the reasoning the Jets coach wanted the play: To get to third and manageable.
What Kendrick Lamar has done to Drake is taking up the majority of space on Twitter/X on this lovely afternoon but coming across Le'Veon's thoughts on Gase out of nowhere absolutely made my day.
It's nice knowing these superhuman athletes have these sort of sports-related thoughts that get them pissed on a random weekday instead on focusing on what's ahead like, the one player who can change the Jets' 2024 season. In fact, I just had a similar feeling when trying to double-check Bell's age via Google (32, by the way) and coming across his BoxRec page, which has him at a 2-1 pro record.
I almost punched the monitor. This dude should've kept playing football at the level he did at Pittsburgh all the way into the Hall of Fame. Where did it all go wrong?
