Eagles signal unsurprising plan for their newest addition

There are signs of life from the NovaCare Complex. The Philadelphia Eagles are working as the title defense is already underway. The social media team tossed a picture or two out there. We've seen a couple of glimpses of Jalen Hurts. Jordan Davis saw his fifth-year option exercised which began conversations about who might be in line for a payday.

Eagles signal unsurprising plan for their newest addition

Davis, as you know, was a first-round draftee (2022), a home-grown Bird, which made him a priority. Philly added other former highly-drafted players last offseason, during the season, and this past March. One of those players is Kenyon Green whom Philly landed in a trade involving C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

Drafted in the same first-round as Davis, he too had an option baked in his rookie deal. He, however, figures to only be in Philly for a single season (if that long).

The Eagles are unsurprisingly declining Kenyon Green's fifth-year option.

News comes regarding the Kenyon Green dilemma. Philly elects to decline his option as they did Jahan Dotson's before last week's NFL Draft. With so many bodies along the offensive line, another question stirs. Does he even have a shot at making the roster?

That being said, this news shouldn't shock anyone. If a spot on the roster isn't certain this season, it's hard to imagine he'd be part of this franchise's long-term future.

An interior offensive lineman, Philly is seemingly loaded heading into camp with two Pro Bowlers (Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens), two young recent draftees (Tyler Steen and Trevor Keegan), and newly acquired/drafted prospects who will battle for roster spots (seemingly too many to mention).
