Daniel Jones is getting destroyed on social media for embarrassing INT vs. Bengals

In Week 6, the New York Giants took the field for a prime time showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football. Looking for their second win in a row, the Giants were put in a tough position right away. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow capped a touchdown drive with a 47-yard rushing touchdown that made New York's defense look downright silly.

From there, the Giants looked to respond. And, they started to. Things looked to be going well. The Giants were well on their way to tying up this game, early on, after giving up that long touchdown to Burrow.

It was a 1st-and-10 inside the red zone for Daniel Jones and company. He had completed his last four passes, most recently a 15-yard pitch and catch to Wan'Dale Robinson to set them up nicely from the Bengals 14-yard line.

Just as the Giants seemed to be hitting their stride, offensively, the unit came to a full stop. In fact, Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth had just finished talking about Jones getting into "a rhythm" when the Giants quarterback dropped back, felt the pressure as he was about to get hit and, well, air-mailed an interception.

The timing of the interception couldn't have been funnier, to be quite honest. Jones wasn't about to let Michaels and Collinsworth praise him for prime time success. After all, he is a career 1-13 in prime time matchups. So, he decided to do what only Daniel Jones could do.

Prior to the pick, Jones was 6-of-9 for 62 yards and looked as though he was, indeed, getting into a rhythm. So, for the on-air praise to come at that moment wasn't exactly off-base. Jones was feeling it. But, he couldn't help himself. Jones didn't keep it, tuck and run, take a sack or even throw it away. He had to let 'er rip, and right into the hands of the opposition.

Social media was roaring over Daniel Jones' first half interception against the Bengals

As they say, stats don't lie and ... 1-13 isn't great.

Yes, yes he is. Oh, how we had missed him.

There's a Kirk Cousins joke in there somewhere, just to make Giants fans not feel as bad.

Speaking of old ... this is Year 6. He is aging, yet still making decisions like this?

You're not wrong, there.

That about sums it up.

That tweet will suffice; don't you worry.

Yep.

Oh, undoubtedly. It sure is.

As I was saying...

Can you? Please?

It's not high. I'll tell you that.
