Commanders Return To RFK Stadium Gets New Boost

The Washington Commanders' new regime has already done a lot of good work on and off the field. Now, more good news is on the way.

With the franchise looking to return to the old RFK Stadium, where Washington played its home games for nearly three decades, many things had to go right for the team to return...and it appears they are.

The Washington Post stated weeks ago that there was a potential way for the Commanders to return to D.C. via the Senate committee in which the Energy and Natural Resources Committee would give D.C. total control over the stadium site, but the RFK Bill would need to be passed.

Why does that matter? Because there would need to be significant redevelopment of the site to make it suitable for NFL football, and this would then allow it to happen.

Now, per Eric Flack, the RFK Bill will be included in the Continuing Budget Resolution, as a Capitol Hill insider told him.

This means that the RFK Bill will likely be passed, and that opens up the avenue for the Commanders to return to their old stadium along with the ability to control the site and launch a major redevelopment of the stadium. Meaning that Washington could be coming back to D.C. to play NFL football.

With the Commanders undergoing a significant transformation this season both on and off the field, it appears that more is on the horizon. If everything goes well, the team will return to the stadium in D.C. it once called home for nearly 30 years.

The feel-good vibes are finally back in Washington, and this latest piece of news might just be the icing on the cake for fans.
