Chiefs’ Top Trade Options Sent to Playoff Hopefuls in AFC

The Kansas City Chiefs will look to stay undefeated in Week 7 when they face the San Francisco 49ers in a Super Bowl rematch.

While the Chiefs are 5-0, they have already struggled with injuries on offense, especially in their receiving corps. Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown, who entered the season as Kansas City's top two receivers, have both been ruled out for the season.

Coach Andy Reid claimed that while they are open to bringing in a new receiver, they could also stick with the group that they have. Regardless, if the Chiefs do want to bring in one of the top receivers on the market, it seems they have already missed out on two of them.

The New York Jets traded for All-Pro receiver Davante Adams, and the Buffalo Bills acquired Pro Bowler Amari Cooper on Tuesday. The moves not only took away two potential options from Kansas City, but they also brought them to two playoff hopefuls in the AFC.

Luckily, the move for Adams does take him out of the AFC West, meaning the Chiefs won't have to see him twice a year anymore.

Looking ahead, there are still multiple receivers that Kansas City could pursue in the market if they're still interested. One of which, Deandre Hopkins, would likely cost less than Adams and Cooper, who both cost third-round picks.

Even if the Chiefs hold off on a trade, they are one of just two undefeated teams left in the league, putting them in a great position coming out of their bye week.
