Chiefs HC Andy Reid gave a three-word update on DT Chris Jones' Super Bowl LIX knee injury at 2025 NFL Scouting Combine

Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid provided one final 2024 NFL season injury update at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Chiefs DT Chris Jones suffered an apparent injury in the third quarter of Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was rushing the passer and pulled up with what appeared to be a non-contact injury. He tried to jog off the field, but he went to the ground and was attended to by the team's training staff. They helped him off the field and to the sidelines, where they further examined him.

Feb 9, 2025; New Orleans, LA, USA; Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones (95) is helped after an apparent injury against the Philadelphia Eagles during the second half of Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome.

Jones briefly returned to the game before exiting again, and he was ruled doubtful to return to the game with his knee injury.

As if Super Bowl LIX weren't bad enough, the possibility remained that Jones suffered a significant injury. Andy Reid did not provide an update immediately following the loss, adding even more mystery. Was Jones truly hurt, or had they simply thrown in the towel with a monster deficit and so little time remaining?

Reid's brief update on Jones from the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine would suggest the latter.

"He's doing good," Reid said.

Further elaborating, Reid suggested that if the team had another game to play in a short span, perhaps he'd have some injury-related challenges. However, with practically 200 days to go until the 2025 NFL season opener, it doesn't appear to be something at any risk of keeping Jones out long term.

"Yeah, he's doing good," Reid continued. "We don't have to play tomorrow, but he's doing good."
