The Celtics will be shorthanded again for their final matchup before the All-Star break against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night. Three players were listed on Boston’s injury report which was released on Tuesday with starting guard Jrue Holiday being ruled out for the fourth straight game with a shoulder injury.
Jaylen Brown (knee) and Torrey Craig (ankle) also remain on the injury report but both players have been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday’s home matchup.
Brown missed Monday’s game with right knee swelling while Craig has missed his first two games with Boston due to reconditioning amid his recovery from an ankle sprain. He has not played since Dec. 30 due to the injury originally suffered while he was playing for the Chicago Bulls.
Jayson Tatum was removed from the injury report entirely after being listed as questionable with knee soreness on Monday night. He scored a team-high 33 points over 38 minutes in Boston’s rout over the Heat.
The Spurs will be at full strength for the matchup Wednesday outside of reserve center Charles Bassey remaining sidelined. Boston will be getting its first look at new point guard acquisition De’Aaron Fox in a San Antonio uniform for the matchup. The Spurs have gone 2-2 since he was acquired prior to the trade deadline. The Spurs also added big man Bismack Biyombo on a 10-day contract this week and could be in uniform for the matchup.
The Celtics and Spurs will tip off at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night in a nationally televised contest on ESPN.
