The Denver Broncos ranked 17th out of 32 teams in the NFL Players Association's yearly evaluation of workplace conditions.
Despite the low overall ranking, the perception of the ownership group, the Walton-Penner family, ranks fourth among all NFL teams. Ownership ranks highly due to its investment in player experience, facilities, and building a competitive roster.
The players graded the team's travel with an A, which ranks sixth out of the 32 teams. The players feel they always have enough personal space while traveling to away games.
Denver also received an A- grade for dieticians, as the nutritionist provides each player with a personalized plan, and the staff is very accessible and easy to communicate with.
The Broncos received an F for their locker room, with only 42% of players feeling the locker room has an adequate amount of space and 56% of the team thinking it is not large enough. Denver received an overall ranking of 30th in the league.
Sean Payton's team also received a C- grade for the organization’s treatment of families. The report states that the franchise only hosts family events “a couple of times a year,” which ranks 31st out of the 32 teams.
Denver does offer daycare and a family room during home games, which raised their rating to 23rd in the NFL.
It is important to note that the Walton-Penner group plans to build a new state-of-the-art facility, which is expected to be completed before the 2026 season.
The new facility, along with ownership’s continued investment in the team, should help raise the organization’s ranking in the future.
