While Zach Wilson’s time with the Denver Broncos was relatively short and insignificant — he spent one season as the emergency third quarterback in 2024 — it made a big impression.
That was because not only was Wilson a former No. 2 overall pick, but he came to the Broncos with his NFL career on life support and no guarantee he would even make the team. He left in significantly different fashion, with a 1-year, $6 million contract to be the backup to Tua Tagovailoa on the Miami Dolphins.
While the impression was Wilson was a great teammate in his one season with the Broncos, that was underlined a little more when current Broncos backup Jarrett Stidham and his wife, Kennedy, showed up to Wilson’s wedding to Nicolette Dellanno on June 28 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.
The couple were first linked in 2022 and were engaged in June 2024.
“(Kennedy) Stidham gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look through social media at the wedding, which took place at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, followed by a reception at the Rainbow Room,” The New York Post’s Bridgett Reilly wrote on June 29. “She started the series of Instagram Story photos with one of the inside of the cathedral set in Midtown and another of the wedding program.”
People Magazine’s Bailey Richards had more details on the lavish wedding.
“The couple said ‘I do’ at St. Patrick’s Cathedral before heading to the nearby Rainbow Room to dance the night away with loved ones,” Richards wrote on June 29. “Dellanno reposted several photos and videos from the nuptials, including several of the pair exiting the N.Y.C. cathedral hand-in-hand. For the ceremony, she wore a silky, corseted, off-the-shoulder gown … Wilson, meanwhile, looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo and bow tie. The Miami Dolphins quarterback also accessorized with a butter-yellow floral lapel, which perfectly complemented his wife’s bridal bouquet.”
Wilson’s Love Life Has Been Tabloid Fodder in Past
Wilson’s personal life underwent some unwanted scrutiny after he was drafted No. 2 overall by the New York Jets in the 2021 NFL draft.
That scrutiny came after Wilson’s former girlfriend, Abby Gile, went on social media in 2022 and accused the former BYU star of cheating on her with one of his mother’s friends.
Wilson never addressed the rumors and Gile became engaged to Wilson’s former BYU teammate and NFL wide receiver Dax Milne in July 2024.
It was all part of the whirlwind of Wilson’s first few years in the NFL that saw him essentially run out of New York after 3 seasons in which he went 12-21 as the starter and had 23 touchdowns with 25 interceptions.
In May 2024, he was traded to the Broncos along with a 2024 seventh round pick (No. 256 overall) in exchange for a 2024 sixth round pick (No. 203 overall).
Wilson came to the Broncos with a chance to be the starting quarterback but both he and Stidham were beat out by Bo Nix in training camp.
Nix, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, led the Broncos to the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season and was a finalist for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
