BREAKING: “Would Be An Ideal Fit In Hafley’s Scheme”: Packers Encouraged To Trade For Las Vegas Raiders Superstar In NFL Offseason

RB Josh Jacobs on the differences between the Las Vegas Raiders and Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers are preparing for the postseason against the Philadelphia Eagles. One of the biggest challenges for the Packers’ defense will be to slow down the Eagles’ high-powered offense.

One of the biggest issues this past season for Green Bay was sacking the quarterback. No player on the roster reached 10 sacks this season. This is an issue that will have to be addressed in the offseason. Last offseason, the Packers signed a former Las Vegas Raiders player in Josh Jacobs to upgrade the running game.

The 33rd Team Thinks That Las Vegas Raiders Defensive End Maxx Crosby Is a Potential Landing Spot For the Green Bay Packers This Offseason

Tyler Brooke of the33rdteam.com wrote about three potential landing spots for Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby this offseason. One of the teams that Brooke listed for Crosby to be traded to this offseason is the Green Bay Packers. Brooke said:

“In 1993, the Green Bay Packers made a splash free agent signing by taking a swing on future Hall of Fame pass rusher Reggie White. That move helped the Packers get over the hump just a few seasons later, winning Super Bowl XXXI against the New England Patriots.

A trade for an elite player like Crosby could have a similar impact.

Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley has turned things around for Green Bay’s defense after years of struggling under Joe Barry. The Packers finished seventh in defensive DVOA this year and fourth in the league with 31 takeaways.

However, the pass rush was a major issue for most of this season. The Packers were 26th in pass rush win rate, with the team’s EDGEs struggling with the transition to a 4-3 base scheme. No player on the Packers’ defense had 50 or more pressures, with Rashan Gary leading the way with 47.

Crosby would be an ideal fit in Hafley’s scheme. In addition to being a legitimate pass rusher, Crosby has the size, length, and play strength to handle the point of attack in the run game as a 4-3 defensive end. It’s an ideal fit for both parties, provided that Brian Gutekunst is willing to take on the rest of Crosby’s contract while giving up some significant draft capital for a “win now” move.”

Crosby no doubt would be a major upgrade to the Green Bay Packers defensive line right away. It would help improve the play of Kenny Clark and Rashan Gary as well. With the high-powered offenses in the NFC North, Maxx Crosby is no doubt a player who could potentially slow down those offenses with his pass-rushing abilities.

Crosby missed the last few games of the 2024 season with the Las Vegas Raiders due to an ankle injury. With the Raiders looking to start over potentially, he may be on the move this offseason. Maxx Crosby this season had 45 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and five pass deflections.

He had played the last few games of the season, there is a chance that he could have had 10 sacks. The Green Bay Packers are missing a disruptor on the defensive line. He is 27 years old and would provide a major boost to any NFL team that needs pass-rushing help.
