A wide receiver is quitting the NFL after being on the Las Vegas Raiders for a few months. The 28-year-old receiver was known for his playing days with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Las Vegas Raiders have had interesting headlines for WRs
The Raiders have had some exciting receiver news in recent months. The Raiders chose not to re-sign Hunter Renfrow in free agency. There has been speculation in recent weeks that Davante Adams is interested in reuniting with Aaron Rodgers. (A Raiders insider recently claimed Adams’ contract is “untenable.”)
The Raiders signed a veteran WR in April
As previously discussed on GH, the team signed a veteran receiver in April that was supposed to provide much-needed depth for the winner of the quarterback battle between Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell.
Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup is planning on moving on from his longtime NFL home.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Gallup plans to sign a one-year deal that can be worth up to $3 million with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Michael Gallup is retiring
According to Ari Meriov with the 33rd Team, Gallup is retiring from the NFL. On Tuesday, the Raiders placed Gallup on the reserve/retired list.
The Cowboys drafted Gallup in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He recorded 266 receptions for 3,744 yards and 21 touchdowns in his NFL career.
