A few Kansas City Chiefs players made headlines this week
Kickers usually don’t receive as much press as their peers. However, Harrison Butker has received much attention for his controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College. On Thursday, two Chiefs players were arrested on alleged drug charges–adding to the legal dilemmas facing the team.
The Chiefs cut La’Mical Perine
Per the league’s transaction wire, the Chiefs released veteran running back La’Mical Perine. Perine has been on the team since the 2022 season, winning back-to-back Super Bowls.
Perine was drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins.
Perine appeared in three games for the Chiefs last season. He recorded 22 carries for 77 yards. He also caught three passes for 33 yards.
