Brandon Beane's draft history gives a huge clue to how he might attack the 2025 NFL Draft

If you're trying to figure out who the Buffalo Bills could be looking at in the 2025 NFL Draft in a couple weeks, you'll need to make sure you're doing your homework on players that played outside the Power 5 conferences.

Brandon Beane's draft history gives a huge clue to how he might attack the 2025 NFL Draft

Bills GM Brandon Beane has the highest percentage of draft picks from non-Power 5 conferences of any general manager currently in the NFL. To say that he and the scouting department leave no stone unturned is an understatement. That list, for Beane, is obviously headlined by the best player in the NFL, Josh Allen.

An article on CBS Sports broke down the numbers, which includes the image above, showing the percentage of players on each day of the NFL Draft that came from outside Power 5 conferences. Beane is tied with Will McClay of the Cowboys for the highest percentage of first round picks that come from non-Power 5 conferences, but his total average of 31.04% is far and away the highest across the league. Also of note, Beane has found players at a high percentage on all three days of the draft.

There are plenty of players this year that are garnering a ton of attention from outside the top conferences, some of which have been linked to the Bills in the pre-draft process. Those players include Marshall EDGE Mike Green, East Carolina CB Shavon Revel, and Toledo DT Darius Alexander.

Beane doesn't care where you played, as long as you can play at a high level. With the amount of talent coming out of those other conferences this year, Beane will have every opportunity to keep this trend alive.
