Bills Urged to Make ‘Wise’ Move to Bolster WR Room

The Buffalo Bills‘ offseason was marked by the team signing veteran receivers to pair with quarterback Josh Allen.

Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper

Buffalo signed former Los Angeles Chargers receiver Josh Palmer, who has a career of 2,287 receiving yards and ten scores in 58 games.

Palmer is accustomed to playing with great quarterbacks, having spent every season of his young career alongside Justin Herbert. As a result, he will be accustomed to the great throws from Allen.

Buffalo didn’t stop at bringing in Palmer; the team also signed former Cleveland Browns receiver Elijah Moore.

Moore has spent four years in the NFL, playing for the New York Jets and Browns, and now will be playing with a great quarterback for the first time in his career.

Playing for the Jets and Browns had to be painful over the last few seasons, as neither team could figure out a quarterback, but now Moore finally gets to play with an NFL Most Valuable Player.

The Bills Seem Comfortable At Wide Receiver In 2025

The Bills are pretty comfortable with the receivers they brought in this offseason, but there is a chance they could add another veteran to the room.

Two notable players who have been mentioned as potential signings are Amari Cooper and Keenan Allen.

Cooper was traded to the Bills during last season and didn’t produce much, which is why he remains a free agent.

If the Bills had any interest in wanting Cooper back, they wouldn’t have let him hit free agency, so there is a great chance he won’t be back with the team this fall.

Bills Urged To Sign Keenan Allen

Allen, on the other hand, could be an option for Buffalo, and Evan Massey from Athlon Sports thinks the Bills should try to sign Allen.

“Adding another weapon for Allen would be a wise decision. With that in mind, Buffalo should look to sign veteran free agent wide receiver Keenan Allen,” Massey wrote. “Allen may not be the superstar that he once was with the Los Angeles Chargers, but he’s still more than capable of making an impact. During the 2024 NFL season, in his lone year with the Chicago Bears, Allen played in 15 games. He racked up 70 receptions for 744 yards and seven touchdowns. Even at 33 years old, Allen is more than capable of being a high-end No. 2 wide receiver. That is the kind of weapon that Buffalo needs to bring in to support their MVP-winning quarterback.”

It wouldn’t hurt for the Bills to bring Allen in and see what he has left to give to an NFL team.

The only issue is that the Bills probably would have reached out to him already if they had been interested in him, as they didn’t sign Moore until early May, so they chose him over Allen.

Buffalo has a crowded receiver room at the moment, and with how great Josh Allen is at getting the most out of his receivers, the Bills could use the roster space they could give to Keenan Allen for another position they need more help at.
