Bengals cornerback not worried about stopping Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy

Chiefs rookie Xavier Worthy make quite a splash last week by scoring two touchdowns in his NFL debut.

Worthy caught a touchdown pass and ran for another as the Chiefs beat the Ravens 27-20 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

That apparently didn’t make much of an impression on the Cincinnati Bengals defense. The Bengals will be at Arrowhead Stadium for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, and Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt is unconcerned about Worthy.

Taylor-Britt was asked Wednesday what Worthy brings to the Chiefs’ offense that Cincinnati’s defense must prepare for.

“Speed. That’s about it,” Taylor-Britt told reporters. “He can run straight. Run jet sweeps and just run straight. He can’t do too much else, so that’s about it. I feel like if you put your hands on him, he’s only a hundred-some pounds, so if you put hands on him, you’re gonna stop his speed, so basically get your hands on him.”

It sounds like the Bengals believe they have a plan to stop Worthy, who was the Chiefs’ first-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft.
