The Chicago Bears appear to be seeking another pass catcher.
They hosted six offensive skill players for workouts earlier this week, according to the Chicago Sun Times. The most notable name on the list: DJ Chark.
Chark was a multi-year standout for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He made the Pro Bowl when he broke out in 2019 with 73 catches for 1,008 yards and eight TDs. The following season, he had another 706 yards and five scores.
The 6-foot-3 Chark left Jacksonville after four seasons for the Lions, where he totaled 502 yards in a lone campaign. It was on to Carolina for 2023, which featured 525 more yards.
Chark joined the Chargers for 2024 but had only four catches in an injury-plagued season.
He has spoken in offseason interviews about wanting the right fit and not just wanting to sign for the sake of signing.
Chark will turn 29 in September. It's very possible the allure of a talented young QB, Caleb Williams, coupled with an offensive-minded head coach, Ben Johnson, is enough to interest Chark.
Now it'll be wait-and-see to find out whether the Bears liked what they saw from Chark in his workout enough to offer him a contract.
