The weekly awards keep on coming for the Chicago Bears. After his sensational outing against the Jacksonville Jaguars, in which the Bears won 35-16, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams was named the FedEx Air Player of the Week.
Williams dominated the Jaguars, completing 23 of 29 passes for 226 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. He finished with a passer rating of 124.4, his second week in a row of achieving a passer rating greater than 120. Williams also added four carries for 56 yards. He made history with the performance, too. Williams' completion percentage of 79.3% was the best ever for a rookie quarterback with four touchdown passes and a minimum of 25 attempts.
Williams became the first Bears quarterback to win the Air award since Mitchell Trubisky back in Week 13 of the 2019 NFL season. It's the second award of the week for the Bears as well. Earlier in the day, tight end Cole Kmet was named the NFL Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts filling in at long snapper.
The Bears have a bye this weekend, but Williams and the offense will look to continue their strong play when they take on the Washington Commanders in Week 8.
