Bears QB Caleb Williams projected to snap epic Chicago drought by Strat-O-Matic

Caleb Williams enters his second NFL season with plenty of potential to be reached.

The Chicago Bears' No. 1 overall pick showed his ability many times throughout the course of his rookie season but still had moments of inconsistency.

One projection system expects Williams to have a strong 2025.

The Chicago Sports Stuff newsletter used the classic game Strat-O-Matic to project Williams' stats for the 2025 NFL season. In their projection, he finishes the year with 4,070 passing yards and 26 passing touchdowns with only five interceptions.

That would be a milestone season for one reason in particular: It'd be the first Bears 4,000-yard passing season ever.

The Bears were a founding member of the American Professional Football Association in 1920, playing as the Decatur Staleys in the league that eventually became the NFL.

In more than a century, Erik Kramer's 3,838 yards in 1995 stand as the most the Bears have thrown for.

Jay Cutler holds the next three spots on the list, and Williams' rookie season (3,541) is fifth.

Chicago fans are certainly hoping this old-school projection system is right, because they're definitely tired of hearing about this difficult streak.

It makes sense that Williams would be the guy to do it. As long as he stays healthy and can figure out new coach Ben Johnson's offense, it seems like it is a strong possibility.
