Bears linked to two-time Super Bowl champion as last-second signing

There's a lot to like about the Chicago Bears with the 2024 National Football League regular season just a few days away from kicking off.

Chicago will begin its new era with phenom Caleb Williams under center on Sunday, September 8th against the Tennessee Titans. Williams has impressed in camp and even was named a captain as a rookie.

The Bears reloaded the roster throughout the summer and some even have speculated that they could end up making their way to the postseason in 2024.

Chicago has a bright future, but with a young rookie under center, it should be doing everything it can to protect him. Plus, the Bears will run the ball plenty with D'Andre Swift in the backfield.

Because of this, Bleacher Report said the Bears should add two-time Super Bowl champion Cameron Fleming in free agency in the near future.

"Add Now: OT Cameron Fleming," Bleacher Report said. "With Larry Borom beginning the year on injured reserve, the Bears are young and thin at offensive tackle. Third-round pick Kiran Amegadjie is the only backup on the active roster who is a true tackle, so it would be smart to invest in a veteran at the position.

"Fleming is a good option since he has experience coming off the bench on both the left and right sides. That way if something happens to Braxton Jones or Darnell Wright, the offense won't have to rely on the rookie out of Yale or slide Teven Jenkins over to protect Williams."

The Bears need to do everything possible to protect Williams and adding someone like Fleming on a cheap deal certainly could help with that.
