Bears Eyeing Former 2nd-Round WR for Signing After Vikings Visit

The Chicago Bears have likely already made their biggest splashes in 2025 NFL free agency, but they might not be done adding to their receiving corps.

With veteran Keenan Allen hitting free agency, the Bears began the process of bolstering their receiver room around D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze last week when they agreed to sign Olamide Zaccheaus, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Now, the Bears are turning their attention toward a former second-round pick and speedster who just last week visited with the Minnesota Vikings.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bears are hosting former Arizona Cardinals second-round wide receiver Rondale Moore for a free-agent visit on Monday after he spent time at the Vikings' facility last week.

"FA WR Rondale Moore, who visited the #Vikings last week, is visiting the #Bears today, per me and @MikeGarafolo," Rapoport wrote Monday on X.

Moore has yet to live up to his potential as the No. 49 overall selection in 2021, catching 135 passes for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns in 33 career games.

He also missed the entire 2024 campaign with a season-ending knee injury he sustained in his first training camp with the Atlanta Falcons, who acquired him in an offseason trade with the Cardinals for quarterback Desmond Ritter.

That said, Moore's speed could prove an asset on both offense and special teams if the Bears decide to sign him to a contract for the 2025 season.

During his 2021 Pro Day at Purdue, Moore clocked an unofficial 4.29-second time in the 40-yard dash, putting him among the NFL's 25-fastest players and making him an asset as both a pass-catcher and a ball-carrier on motion plays.

Moore also put that speed to use as a returner with the Cardinals, averaging 8.1 yards on 22 punt returns and 22.4 yards on 13 kick returns. That aspect of his game helped make him a consensus All-American as a true freshman in 2018.

While the Bears would need to make sure no medical red flags are lingering from Moore's knee injury in 2024 first, they could invest in his speed and untapped potential on a one-year, prove-it deal if he checks out for them.
