Dallas Goedert is a Super Bowl champion. However, depending on how things go, he could also be an ex-member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions. That comes as a double-edged sword. On one hand, the team will live on in the minds of NFL fans and pundits forever.
However, on the other hand, the Philadelphia Eagles find themselves stuck in a losing battle as players and coaches want more money or to make their exit in pursuit of it. That’s where the Los Angeles Chargers could come in.
The Chargers, desperate for a piece of the Super Bowl-winning squad, could potentially make an offer for Dallas Goedert in theory. According to NFL insider Josina Anderson on Twitter/X, the Eagles could be open to letting Goedert go in exchange for a fourth-round pick.
The move for the Cowboys rival is littered with headline potential, but it might not work out in the end. One Chargers expert explained why.

Chargers expert explains why Dallas Goedert might not work out
Speaking on a March 21 edition of “Locked on Chargers,” Chargers expert Daniel Wade explained why the Chargers likely wouldn’t even part with a fifth-round or later pick for Goedert.
“I think when you’re looking at why the Chargers wouldn’t do it, the biggest thing that stands out is just because of the injuries,” he said.
He added: “Last year he missed games, came back in the playoffs, was their leading receiver, so he’s still able to come back and contribute, but that has to be the biggest red flag here, and the biggest reason the Chargers could potentially not want to send even a day three pick for him, which seems to make so much sense.”
The tight end earned 496 yards and two touchdowns in ten games of action in 2024. Now age 30 and in the last year of his deal (Spotrac), he has limited time to win over another team for a sizable contract. His age and recent injury history carry over questions that he might face for the rest of his career no matter where he goes.
Potential landing spots for Dallas Goedert
The tight end very well could remain with the Philadelphia Eagles to finish his career. However, if he were to be shipped away in 2025, there are a few potential landing spots in the NFL.
The Las Vegas Raiders could work. Their offense is likely set to be ran through Brock Bowers. As such, there will be plenty of target opportunities for his backups. If Goedert were to land with the team it would create a TE1 and TE1-A duo.
The New York Giants saw the Eagles take their running back last offseason but they clearly are hoping to win through the passing game as communicated by drafting Malik Nabers. Adding Dallas Goedert would give the team a new target and raise the chances that their next quarterback will succeed.
The Los Angeles Rams also make sense. Tyler Higbee is only getting older at age 32 and had arguably the worst season of his career in 2024 thanks to a season-ending injury. Adding Goedert would add some youth and give the team a chance to add a rookie in the NFL Draft in 2026 if they don’t get one in 2025.
