Bears coaching staff makes admission on what Caleb Williams must fix

This is as big a year as ever for the Chicago Bears, who made many of the right moves during the offseason.

With Caleb Williams under center once again for his second year, Ben Johnson taking over at the top, and much more, the Bears are expected to be improved.

Hopefully, that's how it all plays out, as there are concerns about Chicago until it demonstrates the opportunity to be an above-average organization in the NFL.

The focus will again be on Williams this season, just as it was last year. After throwing for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions, it's unfair to say that he had a bad rookie year.

Many expected him to come in and be a top-five quarterback instantly, but it takes time, no matter how highly regarded a player is out of college.

And according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, there are other ways the Bears want him to improve outside of just on the field.

They weren't happy with how he carried himself as a quarterback, something that needs to improve for the Washington, D.C. native.

“There were two areas where the coaches wanted improvement from Williams. Both related to how he carried himself as the quarterback, based on what the 2024 season showed. One was body language. The other was pre snap procedure... having a quarterback who was rolling with the punches would go a long way,” Breer wrote.

Only 23 years old, Williams has plenty to learn in the NFL. His tools are there, and if he can put together the other stuff, his career should be exactly what many expected it to be when he came out of USC.
