Baltimore Ravens Star Puts Chiefs Staff on Blast After Week 1

The Baltimore Ravens saw linebacker Kyle Van Noy suffer an eye injury in Thursday’s Week 1 road game against the Kansas City Chiefs, which was later diagnosed as an orbital bone fracture. However, the way that he felt the Kansas City Chiefs training staff treated him was not something Kyle Van Noy was thrilled about.

In his McCoy & Van Noy podcast with former NFL star Gerald McCoy, Kyle Van Noy opened up about the injury.

“[The Kansas City Chiefs training staff] took an entire quarter to get down to talk to me in the locker room, which to me, is unacceptable. … As a player, people have that expectation of you being professional, handling business and in a time of need, I wanted that from them, and I felt like I didn’t get it.”

Below is the full clip of Kyle Van Noy discussing the situation.

In the clip, Kyle Van Noy also referred to an offseason poll where the NFLPA was asked to rank their teams in terms of different subjects. In the pool, the training staff of the Kansas City Chiefs was given an F. It will be interesting to see if things change going forward. In terms of Kyle Van Noy, he did not provide a timeline on the show regarding a return to the field for the Baltimore Ravens.

Can the Baltimore Ravens survive the injury to Kyle Van Noy?

The Baltimore Ravens saw a lot of changes to the defensive side of the football during the offseason, including losing defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald to become the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. Now with the injury to Kyle Van Noy, they will likely have backup linebacker Tavius Robinson replace him in the starting lineup.

While we do not know how long the injury will keep him sidelined, the Ravens need to step up and get some wins in his absence. Being 0-1 does not feel good but the bright side is only the Pittsburgh Steelers won Week 1 in the AFC North, so they did not fall too far in the standings with Week 1.

The Baltimore Ravens defense should be decent at worst and still should step up going forward.
